Mount the screws with one end only preloaded. the other end can be
supported, but don't fix the end play. This will allow the screw and table
to expand at different rates. For your project you can use normal ball
bearings and set the preload with shims on either the inner or outer races.
Even paper shims will work for setting preload on this size machine. You
may be able to use the stock mounts, but you will have to take it apart
first to see just what you have.
