Machine Design has had several articles on exactly this subject. I don't know
exactly what the URL is but they are a Penton publication and you should be
able to find them. Every year they publish a very good overview of a lot of
design subjects that you would be interested in. If you can't find a URL e-mail
me, you can have some of mine - but the only requirement is that you take
at least 50 back issues :-)
