I recieved an email with a similar story: $650 to refit a Bridgeport
with
ball screws from a company called HiWin Technologies.
Was it $650 for just the screws or the screws with the ball
nuts? ( I'd bet
it was screws with nuts but I just want to make sure.)
Were they called "preloaded"? That seems to be common
with the zero backlash
setups I've seen. You said that zero backlash is a must so I assume
yours
are.
If the Ah-ha software can compensate then I am happy with 0.003
in/ft lead
accuracy.
I am glad to hear that ballscrews and nuts don't have to cost
more than my
machine did.
I will call them tomorrow and inquire.
Thank you,
