Make sure that you check the controller software suppliers, just
before you decide to make your purchase. Scuttlebutt in the industry
is that more than one of the small systems will be adding cutter comp
to their controller software this year. These companies are not
industrial giants like GE-Fanuc, and tend to be very fast on their
feet. They have to. Within the last year alone, nearly every one has
added 4th axis hardware & control software. Also watch for more low
cost servo systems by year end.

Vector is your most economical solution for programming the rotary 4th
axis. It cuts what you see in the 3D drawing, without requiring you
to visualize from a flat layout. Under $1500 USD, including the rotary
option.
