Hi all,
To all you CNC experts here is a chance to show off all your CNC knowledge.
I have a small milling machine (http://www.busybeetools.com/itm00219.htm)
that I would like to convert to a 3-axis CNC machine for the manufacture
of
small brass parts. I would like to spend in the low thousands
of dollars if
possible.
I need software to motors and everything in between. I figure
a PC based
system running windows 98 is probably the least expensive route.
stepper motors vs. servo motors vs. others
What are the main differences and what are the relative costs?
I saw the
following on ebay
STEPPER MOTORS
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=297158218
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=297697209
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=301700197
(obviously
I don't need 1700 motors. I think 3 would do just fine. But maybe
these are
good motors?)
SERVO MOTORS

What do you think of those motors? What sort of motor specs might I need?
Thank you,
Peter
