Shingwauk Chapel beside Algoma University
Algoma University, mainly Shingwauk Hall has been reported to have strange behaviour, some would call it paranormal.
Shingwauk Hall was first established in 1873, as a residential school for native children. Chief Shingwauk, the Chief of the Ojibways at Garden River, believed that the future Ojibway needed to learn the white man's academic method of education in order to survive in what was becoming a "predominately non-native world with non-native values".
His dream was to have an educational centre built for all future Ojibway children. With the combined effort of Shingwauk's Sons, Augustine and Buhgwujjenene, and Rev. E. F. Wilson, this dream came a reality. A school was built at Garden River in 1873. Six days after completion, the dream was turned to ashes; the school burned to the ground. Not giving in to misfortune another school was erected at the present site overlooking the St. Mary's River.
Not known to many, that there is an old cemetery which is close to Algoma University which mainly has children buried there. Near the burial ground was a house that has been condemned and this is what was said.

I
mentioned earlier is not my own, it belongs to a fellow parapsychologist
/ paranormal investigator that only saw the images after he left the
sight, went home and watched it on his television. Only two copies
exist. One that he keeps in an undisclosed location and the other has
been sent to a video lab for further investigation.
In the video, as the camera lens zooms back from the porch, a very
defined shadow makes it's way across the porch. The shadow is cast
because of the spotlight that is on the camera, as if something walked
across the path of light, but if something did, you would have seen it
on the video. After the shadow appears, a very quick flash of something
flies by the camera lens, at first it looks like a rope that was hung
from somewhere and then swung across the camera, but upon further
analysis as the tape is slowed down, zoomed, colour adjusted and
filtered, a very apparent image is present, of a an old woman, with long
hair and a long robe. who is this woman?? Does anyone know of any
stories about an image of a woman on the AUC campus?
