Aiken fans of all ages and abilities are invited to make change count with our upcoming Fall Campaign "Making Change Count in A Thousand Different Ways"  to take place at CD Release Parties the week of September 19th, 2006.

Since July 2004, fans of RCA Recording Artist Clay Aiken have held a series of charity coin drives in various cities across the USA and Canada. The Penny Lane Project is a grass roots fundraising initiative organized and operated solely by fans of Clay Aiken who wish to volunteer their time and efforts to raise money for the benefit of The Bubel/Aiken Foundation, Inc.

From its beginning, fans in close to 100 cities have raised over $28 028 in coins for The Bubel/Aiken Foundation, whose mission is to provide services and financial assistance to facilitate fully the integration of children with disabilities into the life environment of those without.

Fans are asked to bring their spare change to pre-concert parties, CD release parties and other fan-based events and deposit them into designated collection containers. Donations from each Penny Lane event are counted by volunteer teams and the amount is forwarded to The Bubel/Aiken Foundation.

Those unable to attend events in their communities are invited to make a donation through PayPal to pennylaneproject@shaw.ca . Alternately, individual checks or money orders made out to the BAF (with Penny Lane in the memo line) can be mailed to:

Aiken’s broad, multi-generational fan base includes persons with and without disabilities of all ages. Everyone is encouraged to take part, if even in the smallest way, and make a difference.

Diane Bubel holds the penny presented to her by Kelly Bond, project founder, on October 18th, 2004.

"This penny is a reminder to each one of us that the very smallest of ideas, the tiniest of dreams, and each and every individual is of great value to this world. How great it is when we combine our pennies...when we work together as a family...that single penny can break down doors, and can bring a child the world." Kelly Bond

Sometimes we are so busy adding up our troubles that we forget to count our blessings. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life, for better or for worse. God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way.  A young man named Clayton Aiken has impacted me far beyond my imagination.  I hope that my small little idea of this penny drive can help all those special needs individuals that the Bubel/Aiken Foundation was meant to help.  Together we can make change count.
