Penfold Farm: Built in 1921 as a model dairy farm, Penfold Farm functioned as a cattle farm until 1979 when the main barn was converted into a house. Owned for several years by actress Meg Tilley, it was purchased in 1989 by Gwyneth Evans and Gary Bauslaugh who have restored some of the buildings and developed the gardens. |
| Gardens: The beautiful natural setting for Penfold Farm has been enhanced by extensive flower gardens that complement the existing ponds, ancient oak trees, lawns, and heritage buildings. The various gardens bloom throughout the spring, summer and fall with dozens of rhododendrons, about 90 different roses, over 40 clematis, and many sunflowers, dahlias and gladioli. |

Weddings: Your ceremony and/or reception can take place under the ancient Garry Oak tree in the main courtyard or, particularly in the case of rain, in the adjacent barn which has been the site of many concerts, receptions and other events. Nearby are gardens, ponds and bridges over a connecting stream, which make for wonderful photo opportunities. A summer house provides an ideal location for signing of the register, or even as a location for smaller ceremonies. |
| Harp Music: Gwyneth Evans, who lives at Penfold Farm with her husband Gary Bauslaugh, is an accomplished harpist who has played for hundreds of weddings and other events in many different locations on the Island. If you are interested in harp music for your wedding or other event check to see if she is available. |
