Pencil Art by Mayumi

I'm a self-taught pencil artist, originally from Japan, and currently living in Duncan, BC, Canada, with my husband and two sons.

Art has always been a part of my life. Many of my family members have artistic and creative minds, and ever since I was a child, I have been influenced by their beautiful works.

I like all sorts of arts and crafts, but I particularly enjoy drawing. I've always been fascinated by the simple beauty of art created using nothing more than a pencil and paper.

In the beginning of my drawing career I was mainly working on portraits, but in recent years, I've discovered a passion and love for creating fantasy themed art. The majority of my artwork is done in graphite pencil. I also work with coloured pencils and other media from time to time.
