Child Abuse Legislation Study Project
The mission of the Child Abuse Legislation
Study Project is to protect and empower the survivors of sexual, physical,
verbal, and emotional child abuse, incest, and domestic violence.
We accomplish these goals by educating the public and professionals involved
with children and child abuse survivors, and by fostering awareness of
preventive and educational resources, media coverage, proposed child abuse
legislation, legislative action on child abuse issues, and the legislative
process.
In Orange County, California, a Superior Court judge, who is currently
under house arrest on charges of child pornography and child molestation,
may win re-election because he is opposed only by write-in challengers.
Since write-in challengers rarely win elections, it is crucial that we get
the word out to as many voters as possible. This is one election in
which their votes really will count! Those who want to vote in the
upcoming election must be registered to vote by February 19, 2002.
