Heart of the River

by Eileen Delehanty Pearkes - It verbally and visually expresses the
upper Columbia River's rich natural and human history.
The artist book version is a combination accordion fold and single signature, printed on Stonehenge paper with rice paper inclusions and folds out to a 12 foot river of paper. Each copy is slightly different!

The hardcover 'souvenir' trade version is a single signature (8.5" x 8.5") book. The inside is a redesign photocopy of the artist book version. 100 copies of this version was produced with a soft cover.

When we read the producer's comments on the sound poetry CD 'Carnivocal', we knew we could prove her wrong. So we produced an accordion book for Stephen Cain's sound poem.
Recieved honourable mention in the 2001 Alcuin Book Awards in the limited edition category.

Index of the Mind: Physiognomy and the eighteenth-century novel, a lecture by Juliet McMaster was letterpress printed using polymer plates. The text reflects the elements of the speach, with line lengths based on the cadence, and font choices on emphasis and nuances.

Brown Eyed Susans Cards
