Doreen Heather Penner grew up on the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. Her keen interest in drawing the human figure manifested itself very early on in life. This coupled by her intense love and study of the rich colors in the paintings of the "Old Masters", inspired her to paint in her present form.

Although being partial to portraiture and oils, she also works in a variety of other mediums and subjects. From still life, to wild life, to landscapes, she finds an endless supply of captivating and inspiring material from the world around her in which to paint her "Life's Portraits".

"Art is an expression of how we perceive the world around us and our attempt to portray those views and feelings. My personal attempt is to portray the worlds richness and beauty in a realistic manner that most people can relate to."
