Suzy, Hazel and Ginger were born Sept. 11, 1998, at the local petting zoo. Suzy and Hazel are sisters, and Ginger is their half-sister (same father, different mother). They are all the result of accidental breeding. Some visitors to the zoo decided that Sonny (the male guinea pig) looked lonely. Taking matters into their own hands, they smuggled Sonny next door to the female guinea pig pen. The rest is history...
We wandered through the zoo one day and saw Suzy and Hazel (and a brother) -- about 1 hour old. I'd never paid much attention to piggies before then, but fell immediately in love with these little ones! The next day we went back to look at the baby GPs, and there was Ginger, born the previous evening. The three girls came to live with us about 4 weeks later, when the zoo closed down for the season.
