The Five Towers of High Sorcery were scattered around the world. The first one was located in the mountains to the south of Erandor.
The second one was found in the middle of the desert between Atuesta and Pyranor. The third was in the middle of the forest on the
western tip of Anor. The fourth one was formerly located in the town of Phoenix. While magic users on Anor have always been held
high in regard, there was a short period of time near the end of the Age of Chaos when wizards in Suor fell out of favor with the public.
At the hight of the conflict, they left the tower, and destroyed it after they were gone. The explosion levelled the city, and the land for
a hundred miles around. Many people were killed, and the mages saw what they had done, they vowed it would never happen again.
They reconstructed the tower in the forest on the southern tip of the continent, and helped the survivors rebuild their city. The location
of the fifth one is known only to the members of the High Council, but it is said that Kirulin himself lives there. During the Shattering, two of the towers were destroyed. The one in the northern desert area was destroyed by an immense firestorm that melted all of the surrounding sands for several hundred miles into what is now known as the Plains of Glass. The one to the far west was lost in the wildlands. The fifth tower is located in the Forest of the Dead, just west of Kaergoth. Kirulin does indeed live there, alive and well at over six thousand years old. He is the true master of the High Coucil, but none save the other Archmagi know this. 6000 years old... old-age wisdom and intelligence modifiers... hmmm..... |
