Various Races of Pyraas

Humans: Humans live everywhere. Some of the largest human cities include Kaergoth, Daressun, New Erandor, and Quelimain. Humans vary greatly from place to place, being of any alignment possible.

Elves: There are three major elven cities: Arinesti, Folinesti, and Hydranesti. Arinesti is easily the biggest, and Hydranesti is virtually impossible to find for anyone who does not already know where it is. Elves are good-natured, gentle, and love nature under most circumstances, but will fight to the death when something threatens the power of Good within the world. Characters from Arinesti should use the normal PHB elf stats. Characters from Folinesti use the Wood Elf stats from the Monster Manual. Players can also play Gray Elves, but they do not have a major capital city.

Dwarves: The dwarven capital city is the massive fortress of Pyranor, but there are numerous small fortresses scattered across the map. Dwarves are stubborn, but once they have been swayed to a cause, they will fight tooth and nail for it. The one distinct oddity of dwarves in Pyraas is their tolerance: as long as something is not causing trouble, they don't mind it. This goes not only for other races of dwarves, but also for magic and elves (amazing as it may sound). There are also the Southern Dwarves, whose capital is the island fortress Morifand. Southern dwarves are seafaring instead of subterranean, although their fortresses are usually carved out of coastal cliffs wherever they are. They are taller than their mountain counterparts (males average 5 feet tall), and tend to have light hair and blue eyes (think Norse). They use the normal Dwarf statistics, except that they receive +2 to Strength, while losing their Stonecunning ability and getting low-light vision instead of darkvision.

Gnomes: The only known all-gnomish city lies inside of Parlemir Mountain, near Pyranor. Gnomes are pretty much normal: curious, babbling, ingenious, short and round.

Halflings: There are two types of halflings: the roving adventurer variety, and the 'Lord of the Rings' hobbit variety. The roving adventurers are found all over Pyraas, but the hobbits tend to stay home in Hobbiton. It is located on the southwest tip of Anor. Almost all halfling PC's will be of the adventurous type.

High Orcs: These strange creatures are descended from the orcs we all know and hate, but are their opposite in almost every way. They are clean, honorable, strong-willed, and, god forbid, friendly - or used to be. Since the Shattering, they have become more and more reclusive. PC's can opt to play a high orc, using the classed monster rules, but with Fighter as favored multiclass.

Half-Dragons: Fleeing to Pyraas from persecution in other worlds, half-dragons are found only on the mysterious half-isle. It floats around in the South Sea, and is rarely seen. Occasionally, though, one of their kind finds their way to the mainland. PC's can be half-bronze, -silver, -gold, -greyhawk, -steel, or half-iron. See the full information for half-dragons. I have HTMLized and 3rdEditionized this version - the original was .rtf and can be downloaded from TSR's webpage.

Makaanans: A new race I designed especially for this campaign (see full information here).
