Protoss

I was bored one day, and did up the Protoss from Starcraft as a joke. They didn't come out all that bad, so I figured, hell, why not put 'em up? Technically, they aren't part of my campaign world, but they can be inserted easily enough as described below. Since this is AD&D, not Alternity, I went more for the tribal wanderers image than the 'guys with worldships and psi blades' image.

The Protoss are an ancient, enigmatic race, their origins long forgetten but their wisdom and combat prowess secret to none. They live primarily in wandering tribal societies, but have several permanent dwellings established for the purposes of study and worship. They have no mouths, and thus communicate telepathically. This allows them to communicate with others regardless of what language they speak. They are tall, lean, and have leathery skin tinted the color of their tribe. They prefer to fight with staves or spears, but have been known to employ a blade resembling a cross between a katana and a scimitar.

Abilities:
-All non-psionicist Protoss are considered level 1 wild talents due to their natural psionic ability.
-All Protoss gain the Obscure Knowledge proficiency at the beginning of the game without expending a slot.
-If they strap butcher knives to their wrists, Protoss Fighters can use their psychic powers to make them glow blue and get +1 to hit and damage.
-They get a -4 reaction penalty due to the fact that many people find a 10-foot tall lizard man with no mouth... unsettling, to say the least.
-+1 HP per level. Half of their total HP is considered to be a psychic shield, the other half being normal hit points. Damage is subtracted from shields before damaging the character. Shields regenerate at a rate of 1 every 5 rounds.
