The Dragon Knight is a fierce fighter, one who seeks to emulate the mightiest of all creatures. Strike fast, never stay in one place, but most importantly, strike hard. If you have to strike again, they have won, say the greatest Dragon Knight masters. Dragon Knights spend some time with a master monk to learn their abilities, then train hard under another Dragon Knight to master them with armor on.
Typically, only fighters have the training and discipline to become Dragon Knights, but ranger or barbarian Dragon Knights are not unheard of. Most other classes rarely do so.
NPC Dragon Knights often form units of elite shock troops, leading the first wave in an assault before the regular troops move in.

Requirements: HD: d10
Good saves: Fort, Ref.

Class Skills:
Balance (Dex), Handle Animal (Cha), Jump (Str), Ride (Dex), Swim (Str), Tumble (Dex)

Class Features:
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Dragon Knights are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, and all armor and shields. In addition, they may take an exotic weapon proficiency feat to use any spear (except a longspear) with only one hand.

Jumping: Bonus to Jump checks, jumps no longer restricted by character height. May take 10 on Jump checks.

Free Movement: Armor check penalties and max dex. restrictions no longer apply.

Leap Attack:The Dragoon first makes a Jump check (any type, depending on his situation). If the jump distance allows him to reach his target, he makes a single attack with a spear, and appies the listed hit bonus and damage multiplier. If the jump check results in a vertical height greater than the target's height, the damage multiplier is increased by one. The dragoon then gets a second jump (*not* a move, and this jump may not be a running jump) to get out of the way of the target. The entire jump is a full-round action, with the dragoon considered to be "in the air" and gaining the listed dodge bonus under the "AC Bonus" column until the beginning of his next turn.

Dragon Spirit: Once per day, when reduced to 0 or fewer hit points, may automatically recover to 1 hp as a free action (when the character's next turn would come about). Body must still be intact, and character may not be past 'death point'.
