Daressun

Daress Salam was a small community in the Mohorovic Mountains, founded long ago when the orcs in Morad-dûn were still wild and savage. It was supposed to be a warning and guard against an orcish invasion, and is populated by highly skilled warriors. Before the Shattering, there were approximately 800 warriors there at any given time. Now, it is a large city and capital of its own nation. Originally intended only as a sort of military camp, it was filled with a flood of refugees after the Shattering. It once guarded one of the only two good passes through the mountains, and Pyranor guarded the other. Now, they are a counterpoint to Morad-dûn - reclusive though the orcs may be, they were once under the influence of the dark priest Khaer and must be kept under watch at all times.
