Pat Meaden, I am researching the family of Jacob SUMMERILL/SUMMERHILL, who according to the 1901 census was born in Kingswood. He was born abt 1855 and later moved to South Wales where he worked in the coalmines. On the 1901 census he is living with his wife Sarah who was also born in Gloucester, and his five children William, Elizabeth, Edith, Margaret and Beatrice.

Edward Nicholl, researching the JONES family in particular John Roach JONES Born 1833, either Downend or Mangotsfield. 1871 Census states "Dewning", but 1901 Census gives Mangotsfield. Married Jane WICKS in Sevenoaks, Kent, 1863. Died Sevenoaks, Kent, 1904. Not shown in 1851 Mangotsfield Census.

Jane A. Payne, researching the GREEN family. My 2xgr grandfather was John GREEN born in Winterbourne ABT.1839 the first 3 of his children were born in Lancashire the next 4 in Winterbourne and the youngest Alice was born in Mangotsfield abt 1880, Johns wife was Sarah born in Cumberland. My GR grandfather John GREEN b.1865 Êmarried Clara Ann SCUSE B.1865 in Stapleton. Sarah Jane HARRIS married Walter WRIDE they were both from Mangotsfield. Sarah was born abt 1880 Walter was born abt 1877. They brought up their family of 5 in Soundwell. Henry KING b. 1831 in Mangotsfield marriedÊÊHannah SHORE of Longdston Somerset. His father was Mark KING we think of Morend B. ABT 1794. I would love to hear from anyone connected to these families.

(between 1881 & 1884) His father I think is William PARTRIDGE b.1794 Kingswood, Glos. wife Harriet (nee Hart) (b.poss.1793) Children:- Richard 1814, Sophia 1820,Simeon 1824, Hannah 1827, Harriet 1828, Andrew 1831, Hariot 1833, Sarah 1835. This info. is gleaned mostly from censa & LDS records. The children may not all be attributable to William & Harriet but it seems they are. The birhdates of the children are approx.

Penny Bignell. I have just discovered a marriage between a Bertha Nellie BIGNELL (ancestor of my late husband's) and Francis Thomas TERRETT of Walk Mills, Kingswood. I should like, if possible to know if anyone can let me have any details of this TERRETT family. The marriage took place in the Parish Church of Wotton under Edge in l923 and, as far as I can ascertain, Thomas's father is Daniel TERRETT.
