Marsha Meere Stringer. Some of my earliest families are from North Stoke/Swinford, SOM and the Bitton area; most known from the 1700s forward: MEERE (orig. Mangotsfield/Dyrham, 1750s on), BUSH (of Duyland BUSHE, Wales, 1400s; many SOM and GLS locations), THOMPSON (orig 1680s, Redbrook and associated with the COSTER family and earliest copper mills; Publow area, SOM), LEWIS, BUTLER, SUMPTION and NAISH.
