Anna Kinley, I have a Mary
EDWARDS marrying Joseph PHILLIPS on Sept. 21, 1789 in Winchcombe. I thought she was likely the daughter of Samuel EDWARDS and Mary COLE who married Nov 5, 1770 in Alderton. If this is the case, she would have been under 21 at the time of her marriage. It appears Samuel and Mary moved to Winchcombe after Feb.1774 and before Mar. 1777. I have been unable to find a christening for Mary in either Alderton or Winchcombe, nor have I been able to find any solid evidence of another EDWARDS family other than Samuel's living in Winchcombe in the appropriate timeframe. Would anyone with access to the parish records, be willing to see if there is any indication she was under 21 at the time of her marriage and/or the names of witnesses to the marriage? The only other bit of information I can think might give me some clue is her death or burial entry in the parish records if it gives her age at death. Any assistance would be much appreciated! Other families include NASH (NAISH), BEST, JACKSON, YARDINGTON, BURROWS, YOUNG and HORNSBY

MIDWINTER family. My wife's g-grandmother was Elizabeth Sarah MIDWINTER who married Lambert HUGHES in the September quarter of 1894. On the IGI I have found a possible christening for Elizabeth at Withington on 19 May 1872.

Andrew Moore, researching ALL members of the
de SOLERS family in medieval Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. Richard de SOLERS held land in Winchcombe (Domesday book 1086), and his son William de SOLERS built Postlip Chapel for it's residents, who feared travelling to Winchcombe around the time of the Stephen and Matilda War. William also became Abbot of Winchcombe Abbey. William's son was Roger de SOLERS, who by this time may have had links with Shipton Sollers 5 miles east of Cheltenham.
ALL references or mention of the
de SOLERS family (1066 - 1500) in Winchcombe or elsewhere welcomed.

Tina Joyce, I am trying to trace my grandfather Alexander Gardiner
BRODIE who married Emily Mary Ann PERRY at Sudeley Manor Church on Oct 5 1904.
The family always thought that he was a bailiff on the Sudeley estate, but the estate has no record of him as an employee or tenant and suggests that he may have worked instead for Lord Sudeley (easily confused over the years) This would have been between about 1880-1900 (he was 41 when he married and spent some of these years as an overseer on a sugar plantation in Hawaii).
