The LASBURY family briefly entwined itself with the SOLLARS family (Frank SOLLARS b. 1872 and Carrie LASBURY b. 1907) and on a quick trip to Sheepscombe on a wet afternoon I found an astonishing number of churchyard memorials to the SOLLARS families. My previous experience with churchyards is that you travel for miles and find that Ag Labs are remembered in stone! Charles SILVEY who came from Stroud but married an Eliza born in Saul and had a daughter Isabella born in Moreton Valence in 1867. There is a Charles SILVEY married to an Eliza on the 1851 census with the right ages and a daughter Mary Anne. In this census the Charles SILVEY is a shoemaker but the one in the 1881 census is a vessel owner which is a major change in career but possible I suppose over a 30 year period. The SILVEY's do not appear on the IGI index. In the 1881 census they were living in Moreton Valence. The Isaballa SILVEY daughter of Charles and Eliza shown on the 1881 census married George MARKEY who was born about 1870 in Arlingham. His parents were George MARKEY born in 1833 in Fretherne and Elizabeth born 1831 in Saul. George MARKEY was a master mariner.
