Geoff Powers, My mother's father, Hubert WALLACE was born in 1879 in Willersey, Gloucestershire. He was the youngest of six children 4 boys and 2 girls; his oldest brother, James, was born in Broadway in 1864. My great-grandfather was Thomas WALLACE, born in Broadway in 1842. He married Mary WALTERS (31 March 1863), who was born in Childswickham, and they lived to begin with in the village in/ near Mary's family home. My own grandfather Hubert WALLACE married Elizabeth PAYNE from Stratford-on-Avon about 1897-9 and moved to Winson Green in Birmingham, where he worked as a city corporation carter until about 1930. So far I have been unable to trace the WALLACE family positively prior to 1842, but there is some circumstantial evidence to suggest that the recording of the family name may well have been mis-spelled in earlier and later registration entries - I have found in Broadway 'WALLISS' (2 members of same family in 1829 and 1833), in Childswickham 'WALLICE' (1868) and in Weston-sub-Edge 'WALLIS' (1779) and 'WALLICE' (1803).

Kathryn John, I am interested in the village of Welford on Avon as one of my ancestors was married in the church there. The names I am interested in are RITCHINGS, RICHENS or any other variant during the late 18th and 19th centuries. Any links to Stratford on Avon would also be appreciated.

Hester Moore, researching the following from Henley In Arden / Wootton Wawen. Eliza HIGGINS was born 1840 Henley In Arden d/o William & Sarah. She married 1862 at Wootton Wawen Reuben MASTERS born 1833 Hatton s/o Stephen & Harriet. Emma MASTERS b abt 1867 married Victor BUCKLEY. They had 2 children, that I
know of, Victor BUCKLEY and Claude Arden BUCKLEY. Jessie MASTERS married George William JENNINGS - they were My Great Grandparents.

John Hughes, I am researching the WYATT family. Thomas WYATT of Todenham, Gloucestershire married Jane MARSHALL in 1772 and I believe that their son John is my ancestor. I believe John left Todenham and moved to Clifford Chambers where he became a farmer. He married Mary PRENTICE ( also of Todenham ) in 1794. They had several children but I am descended directly from their son William (b. 1809). William WYATT moved to Stratford-upon-Avon and became a Saddler.
I have a fair bit of information on this family, including copies of some legal documents regarding John and William.
My John WYATT was born in 1774 and I am fairly certain that he is from Todenham. His wife Mary PRENTICE also seems to be from there according to the IGI.
