In the name of God, Amen. The Sixteenth day of Ap[ril] Anno Dom[ini] 1629, And in the fift yeare of the Raigne of our Sov[ereign] Lord Charles, by the grace of God, of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, Kinge, defender of the Faith etc, I, Margery IZOD, of Laverton, in the Parish of Buckland, and County of Gloucester, Widdow, beinge weak in body but of good memorie (thankes be unto Almighty God), doe orde[yne] and make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following.
First I bequeath my Soul into the handes of Almighty God my Maker, trustinge and assuredly hopinge to be saved by the merits and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ, And my body I com[m]end unto the earth when it [shall] please God to take me out of this mortall life.
It[e]m I give towardes the repaires of the Churche of Buckland 3s & 4d.
It[e]m I give unto Richard IZOD my sonne 2s 6d as a token of my love.
To his three Sonnes 5s a peice, and to his foure daughters, each of them a pewter platter.
It[e]m I give and bequeath unto William IZOD my sonne all the Wainscotte in the Hall behind the two table boardes, one bedstead standinge in the Chamber next the Hall, one Malt mill, one Cisterne, And my Will is that he, the sayd William, shall have the best Cupboard, longest table, and all the benches in the Hall, he payinge to mine Executor hereafter menc[i]oned sixteene shillings for them.
It[e]m I give to Anne my daughter 2s 6d.
It[e]m I give to Margerie my daughter 2s 6d, and to her two sonnes 2s a peice as tokens of my love.
It[e]m I give unto John IZOD of Tuddington three Bushells of Corne, the one halfe wheate, the other barley.
It[e]m I give unto the three Children of William RICHMOND three sheepe, w[hi]ch if they mislike, I give them 20s to be divided amongst them by equall porc[i]ons.
It[e]m I give unto my daughter Elizabeth RICHMOND halfe my goodes that are in and about my dwellinge house (exceptinge those thinges before given), whether Beddinge, Linnen, woollen, brasse, pewter, cooperie ware [barrels etc], treene ware [wooden goods], and all other thinges, exceptinge the tooles. Allso I give unto hir all my Apparell, both linnen and woollen, and halfe the money that my Sonne William is to pay for the Cupbord, table and benches in the Hall.
All the rest of my goodes, moveable and unmoveable, not given and bequeathed, I give and bequeath unto Thomas IZOD my sonne (my legacies payd and funerall expences dischardged), whom I doe make, constitute and ordaine sole Executor of this my last will and Testament.
And my Will further is that he, my sayd Executor, shall not loppe nor croppe any kinde of trees after my decease, nor remove any doores, window-leaves or glasse, but that they remaine to my sonne William, And that all Legacies by me given be payd w[i]t[h]in halfe a yeare after my decease.
And allso, that there may be no discord when I am gone, my will is that if any thinge seeme doubtfull in this my Will, or otherwise, that both mine Executor and other Legators shall stand to the explanation and Arbitrement of Mr HUNTINGTON, Thomas WHEELER and William RAY, or the major part of them.

[The will of Mary [sic] IZOD, late of Laverton, in the parish of Buckland, deceased, Was proved in the Triennial Visitation of the Lord Bishop of Gloucester, On the seventh day of the month of August in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and thirty four, Before Francis BABER, Chancellor of Gloucester, by Thomas IZOD, the executor etc, to whom administration was committed etc, he being duly sworn etc of the will of the within-named Margaret IZOD deceased, To whom administration of all and singular the goods etc was committed, he being duly sworn etc.]
