Richard was a widower, an Agricultural Laborer, and of full age living at Chipping Norton. Fanny Lord a spinster was a Servant, the daughter of John Lord, a Carpenter. She was of full age and a resident of Chipping Norton. William Hood was the registrar.
The St Peter and Paul, Blockley baptism gives Richard's parents as Richard and Catherine. I believe this is an error as the only Haines/Haynes family baptised in this period at that church was to William and Catherine.

4. THOMAS3 HAYNES/TUSTIN (RICHARD2 HAYNES, WILLIAM1 HAINES) was born March 25, 1810 in Broadway, Worcestershire, England, and died March 18, 1868 in Logan Falls, Evandale, Tasmania, Australia. He met (1) SARAH ROBINSON November 14, 1833 in Tardiebiggie, Worcestershire, England. He married (2) ANN BARTLETT November 11, 1842 in Sorrell, Tasmania, Australia.

Notes for THOMAS HAYNES/TUSTIN:
Convict: Thomas Tustin arrived in Tasmania on the 28th August 1835, as a convict on the ship Norwalk. He had been sentenced to seven years transportation on 6thth April 1835 in the city of Oxford for stealing bacon from a Mr. Timms. It was not his first time in court as he had been previously sentenced to seven years transportation for breaking into a warehouse in 1829 and served six years on the prison hulk Ganymede, apparently escaping the sea voyage to Australia. His convict record lists him as alias Haynes. He left Sheerness 14th May 1835 and arrived in Hobart 28th August. The voyage took 102 days. When Thomas arrived in Australia he was 26, single, and recorded as having worked as a ploughman, farm labourer, groom, and coachman. He was five foot six and a half inches tall, had a fresh freckled complexation, dark brown hair, an oval face, grey eyes, a small mouth and a large chin. He also had two tatoos, one of a woman holding a flag and a flower inside his right arm, and a woman inside his left arm. His time as a convict seems to have been uneventful. There were only two offences listed against him on his record in Tasmania. On 2nd July 1839 he was absent without leave and neglected his duties, for which he spent four days and nights in solitary confinement. After being granted his Ticket of Leave on the 12th November that year he was free of offence until the 22nd February 1841, when he was guilty of misconduct. His certificate of freedom came on the 13th August 1847. On the 8th June 1842, Thomas Tustin listed as free, petitioned the Lietenant Governor, Sir John Franklin, for permission to marry Ann Bartlett, convict, who arrived on the Garland Grove. Permission was granted and they were married in St. George's Church of England at Sorell, by the Reverend James Normanon the 11th November 1842. The marriage record shows him at age 30, her as 37, clearly a mistake. The Parish Register lists her age as 17, which is correct. Thomas is recorded as a labourer, and both placed their marks instead of signatures, so presumably both were illiterate. The witnesses were Abraham Airey and Isabella Cruikshanks.

Notes for ANN BARTLETT:
Convict: sentenced 3rd April 1841 at the Gloucestershire Assizes to be transported for seven years for
stealing potatoes. Ann who was unmarried was placed on the ship Garland Grove which sailed from London on the 23rd June 1841 arriving in Hobart on the 10th of October 1841.
