Ben Evans, I'm looking for history of the
CRIPPS surname. I've traced them from Cheltenham, to Caudle Green, to Colesbourne, and now it seems Winson. There are a lot of CRIPPS on Census info that give Winson as birthplace: I'm especially interested in James CRIPPS, born 17/8/1761. He is myÊgrt x 5 grandfather, and is proving troublesome (that runs in the family...!) He married Magaret DRAPER at Aston Blank 28/5/1787.Ê Any info would be much appreciated.

Angela Monaghan. I believe my
SPRUCE ancestors may be from Withington. My g-g-g-g grandfather was Joseph SPRUCE who I believe was born 19 May 1771 in Withington, to John and Elizabeth SPRUCE. His siblings include Thomas, John, William and Elizabeth. John SPRUCE was born 2 April 1729 in Withington to Samuel and Elizabeth and had at least one sibling, Mary SPRUCE. So I am interested in SPRUCE pre-1800.

Steve Taylor-Jones,
I have been stuck for many years trying to trace the ancestry of my G.Grandmother Annie Louisa
KIBBLE. Following a breakthrough with the 1911 Census, I have at last managed to trace her father (Thomas KIBBLE b. 1847) and Grandfather (Abel KIBBLE b. 1816). Several members of this family appear to have given Compton Abdale as their place of birth in Census returns.
