Barb Hollis, I am researching HORT and CARY/CAREY can anyone help me please? Looking for a birth of Samuel HORT with a father John HORT he was born about 1828 Badminton GLS. He married 1851 Sopworth Wiltshire to Caroline CAREY or CARY whose father was John CARY and her mother shown on her death cert was Charlotte. Samuel's place of residence in 1851 was Sopworth and Caroline at Little Badminton. Neither of these folk apear on the 1841 or 1851 census. They had a son my Gt Grandfather John born place unknown GLs on his death cert. No birth found for him either. Why wouldn't I find this family on the 1851 census can anyone tell me this unless they didnt bother to fill it out?????

Barry Pritchard, I am trying to trace the PRITCHARD family of South Gloucestershire. I believe that Samuel PRITCHARD/PRICHARD (b.1742 in Bradford Leigh, Wilts) (Married to Mary KEEPEN) was the father of Isaac PRITCHARD (b. abt 1762)Êborn in Old Sodbury. HeÊwas my GGGGrandfather. His wife was possibly Anna and he had childrenÊSamuel (b. 1793), Jane (b.1796), Issac (b.1799), Thomas (b.1802), Anna (b.1807) and James b.1805 in Marshfield. James is my ancestor, marrying Sarah WATTS. The PRITCHARD clan farmed much of the area in south Gloucester for over 100 years. I would be interested in any PRITCHARD's in this area and into north Somerset and Wiltshire.

P. Thomas May, Jr. I am trying to obtain information on the family of Eugene Sydney James MAY, wife Emily (nee) GREEN. They and their children emigrated to the U.S. in about 1889 or 1890.Ê Their son, Eugene, Jr.,born in 1876, was my grandfather. According to notes I found after my grandfather's death, his Dad raised racehorses for Sir Gerald CODRINGTON in or near Chipping Sodbury. I assume they emigrated from the port of Bristol but have yet to be able to find them listed in any ship's lists. Also according to my grandfather's notes, his Dad, Eugene Sydney James MAY, worked as a barrister in his father's law firm, entitled May & Zollinger, in London prior to moving to Chipping Sodbury, but I have been unsuccessful in locating any record of this firm. Also accoring to my grandfather's notes, his grandfather, was the May in May and Zollinger.

Patricia GUNDISH, researching Elizabeth OSBORNE born 1792 Frampton Cotterell married at Westerleigh 31st Dec. 1821 to Joseph PRITCHARD born circa 1785 at Chipping Sodbury. Their daughter Matilda OSBORNE born circa 1825 at Chipping Sodbury married 1845 to Samuel PEGLER who died 1846 - one son Samuel OSBORNE born 1846. Matilda remarried 1853 to George HOLBOROW Born Biddistone Wilts
1811 and a Baker in Chipping Sodbury. They had one son George born there 1858.

Jayne Williams, researching the FIELD family. Elizabeth Henry GOUGH's wife is recorded in the 1881 census as being born in Sodbury. I do not even know whereabouts in Gloucestershire this could be. She is also 42 in 1881.
