My cousin told me about your Pebworth site, and when I looked at it, I found my mother was one of the children in the photo of Pebworth school. Her name was Jessie Dale. Sadly she died 7 years ago but she would have been thrilled to have seen the photo again. I remember seeing it years ago. I think the Christian name of the little Nash girl was Elsie. The children were taken to and from school by a Mr Hemming and it was Dorsington, not Dozington (the local pronounciation). My great uncle was Seth Hubert Emes who lived at the Corner Cottage, Pebworth, and was a wheelwright. My grandmother (Lillie Sophia) was one of his sisters. His father in law was the Mr Hemming who did the school run.

Judith Calder. It was lovely to see a picture of my father, Gerald
PAGET, in the school photo. He was born in 1914 and died a few years ago. My aunt, Marjorie JEFFREY whose wedding photo is there too, still lives at The Windmill, a house I remember being built in Coronation year, 1953. I lived at Bank House, Front Street as a baby during the war; my mother helped my grandmother (Ada PAGET, nee BANNING) in the shop. We later lived in Birmingham, but spent weekends and long holidays at Pebworth, arriving by train at the halt. We loved the house and the village. I was baptised at St Peter's. I'm researching the family history, in particular PAGET, BANNING, HARRIS, TRACEY, MARSHALL , KIRBY.
