David J Vaughan, researching CHAPMAN in Cerney (c.1841-1891), including ownership of the Crown in Cerney Wick. The family lived also in adjacent Ashton Keynes (over the border in Wiltshire) and migrated between the three parishes. Their common ancestor was John CHAPMAN, a Yeoman in Ampney St Peter who was born in Brockworth - a good Gloucestershire family!

John Neill, I am trying to find ut more about the BOWNES family of North Cerney. At the moment all I have is the fact that Anne Catherine BOWNES, daughter of James BOWNES, Esq., of Cotswold House, near Cheltenham married my great great grandfather Thomas WHITLEY. I believe that Cotswold House was in North Cerney. If anyone has any information on the Bownes family whatsoever I would be most grateful for it.

Robert A Hancock. I write as a descendant of Thomas HANCOCK who died 1761 and whose memorial is shown on your display at Church of the Holy Rood. Daglingworth. The family's close association in fact, is recorded back to the early 1600's as shown by other inscriptions in the same church. Another Thomas HANCOCK from that family, emigrated to Christchurch, New Zealand in the early 1800's. And a book has been written about his pioneering talents. His gravesite is preserved in Christchurch.
