Basic
Program Rules:
- ABSOLUTELY NO SPEEDING when
entering or leaving Mission Raceway Park
- Maximum 5 KPH in the pit and
pre grid area
- All drivers and passengers
entering the Mission Raceway gates must sign the waiver form *NO
EXCEPTIONS*
- Cars must pass tech inspection
to participate in the program<>.
Instructors and or Chief of
Safety have the right to exclude a student from participating if they
feel the safety of the students, staff or spectators
are at risk.
- Friends and family are allowed
to spectate, but they must stay in the grandstands or behind the fence
in the pit area. They are not allowed to ride along with
students. The catered lunch is reserved for the students, staff
and track workers. Outside guests must provide their own food.
Car Specific Rules:
- Cars must be in good working
condition. Non-street legal cars (track only) are not allowed at
this time.
- Exhaust noise must be at an
acceptable level (at the discretion of Tech Inspectors, instructors or
Chief of Safety). Exhaust systems must include a catalytic
converter and a properly baffled exhaust (resonator, etc..) This
is to meet the City of Mission by-laws for acceptable decibel
levels. If you are unsure of your exhaust level, please come
prepared with a silencer if necessary. EXCESSIVELY loud cars are
not allowed. Exhaust system must be streetable. This is
very important, so that students can clearly hear the instructors
directions during lapping sessions.
- Both front windows must be
rolled down so that track workers and starter can communicate with the
drivers.
- No loose items in cars.
All loose items must be removed.
- Driver and passenger seats and
belts must be functional. Instructors must be able to ride along
safely as passengers.
- No loose bodywork on
the car. Front lips, hoods, bumpers, spoilers etc.. must be
secure. This is a safety factor for all attendees.
- No loose parts in the engine
bay (intakes, battery tie downs, etc..)
- No leaking fluids (this can
affect the safety of the driving surface for all participants)
- No loose lug nuts, wheel
bearings, etc..
- Roll cages are not required
unless the car is a convertible. Functional / approved bars only,
no "fashion" bars. OEM pop up bars are allowed.
Convertibles must pass technical inspection to participate.
- Tire tread and brake pads must
be in good working condition. Have at least 50% of life in both.
- Home made camera mounts are not
allowed. Only industry approved mounts (roll bar, harness bar or
cage style) are allowed.
On Track Rules:
- Drivers will conduct themselves
in a responsible manner. Purposely breaking traction, drifting,
burnouts, etc.. are NOT allowed. Instructors, Chief of Safety and
flag marshalls have the right to stop a session and or remove a driver
from a session if they feel the safety of the students, staff or
program is at risk. Please respect the staff.
- Acknowledge the flag marshall
at the start of each lap. Watch for colored flags indicating
track conditions, etc..
- The Checkered flag indicates a
cool down lap - please use this lap to cool down your brakes, engine,
etc.. You should not be at unnecessarily high speeds during a cool down
lap. Watch your spacing with other cars.
- Keep your eyes open for other
drivers and cars.
- Stereos should be kept OFF.
- Please turn off cel phones
during the program.
