Subject: regarding ephedra 

To whom it may concern: I have been using Ephedra for more then 20 years and never had any problem. Ephedra is really important in Chinese medicine and there is no substitute for it. It is very effective for cold, arthritis and asthma. 

A patient came to me for a treatment of high fever for lung infection. I told her I can do nothing unless she could find ephedra by herself. She found it from an old herbal store and I fix her in a day. I can see no reason to ban Ephedra in Canada. The reason is quite simple, can you ban rice just due to some people choked from it? Ephedra can help much more people than it causes problem for a few people who misuse it. If it is used in China for so many people in thousands of years, why Canadian people just has no right to use it? There are quite a lot chemicals much worse than Ephedra, why those could still be in use? 

I also view this as discrimination or business reason. Just because certain people do not want to see Chinese medicine works too good for people. If not so, I couldn't find any reason. Please, please and please just consider this again.
