Hi Team
Lorna and I have a small cottage at Wakaw Lake and are inviting the Paladins
players friends and family to come and celebrate our AWESOME team. A few of us discussed this one evening (over
a few beers) and came up with a weekend that worked for us, so I hope it can
work for you too. So here are some
details. Please feel free to let me know
if you have any questions.
Date - Friday August 7th to Sunday August 9th, actually if anyone wanted to
extend the trip I think Lorna and I plan to be there on holidays.
Wakaw Lake is less than 1 hr drive from Saskatoon. I will provide specific directions to our
door later in this email. Wakaw Lake
town is 1km from our cottage and has a LBS (not open sunday) Bar/vlt/offsale
(open sunday), Groceries, Hardware, Hospital (emergency if needed) and even
Chinese food. The crossroads gas is open
till 11:00pm 7 days a week and has almost any thing you might need in a pinch.
There is no need to book at the campgrounds, we have room at our place to
park an RV or pitch as many tents as needed.
We are on the lake and it will be an awesome place to talk soccer and
enjoy the fire with friends. You simply
need to let us know you want to come and we can help accommodate your needs,
ie; power. In the cottage we have an
extra room with a double bunk bed. There
are also two couches that are reasonable sleeping.
GOLF!! how about playing in the
Paladins Cup!! I have booked 4 tea times
and will need to release any we don't need very soon. Please indicate to me ASAP if you are
considering coming and want to play, girls and kids welcome. Please email me about the golf even if you
have already told me just to be sure I don' miss anyone. The Wakaw Lake golf course is beautiful and
very mature. The cost is $20 per 9
holes. We have the option of playing
around twice to make it 18. I think
there is a discount for the second round.
It might be more fun to play 9 on Saturday and then the second round on
Sunday(just an idea not sure if that works)
Directions to our Cottage - Drive east on College Dr to the Drive in / Gas
bar and turn left / North on highway 41.
80 km to The Crossroads Gas Bar. Continue on highway 41 for about 1 km
past the gas station and take the First Left turn marked < First Point
Beach. Drive about 1 km on gravel and
turn right on the beach road. (If you
drive right up to the lake you missed the beach road). We are cottage Number 8 First Point Beach
Wakaw Lake, and this is what it looks like from the road.

Hint just look for a bunch of injured old guys.
Kids welcome - we will have Lauren who is 9 and Nicholas who is 6 with
us. They would think it was awesome to
sleep in a tent provided we can find a couple of other kids to join them.
We don't have a beach but it's about 5 minutes drive to Poplar beach where
there is a great public beach with a not bad restaurant-bar/ice cream
shop. I would suggest that we take the
kids there once a day for some good fun.
Family Day 2008. - just an example of the fun we can
have.
BTW Fuzzy has a place just a few
doors down. You gotta come see our
little piece of cottage country.
I hope lots of people can make this special Paladins Party. I know we will have a great time.
