AREA INFORMATION

Okanagan Centre is a lakeside community conveniently located halfway between Kelowna (25 mins away) and Vernon in Lake Country/Winfield. The drive to Kelowna or Vernon is easily done by Highway or by backroads.

Okanagan Centre offers a free public boat launch/safe harbour (temporary&emergency docking). There is a convenience store and museum. The Gray Monk winery offers free tours and tastings and is right down the road.

The town of Winfield is a short drive away (5 km), and offers an IGA, fast food outlets, library (internet service), video rentals, liquor store, restaurants, pubs, drop-in medical clinic and much more. Turtle Bay marina in Winfield has various boat rentals.

Okanagan Centre has miles of public beach areas that are secluded due to their forested nature. The water is sparkling clear and the beach is made of large smooth rocks/stones. The Okanagan Lake beaches of Okanagan Centre are a short (~2km) drive away or you can walk down the forested hill right outside the suites door to the beach. Many other beaches are available within a 15 - 30 minute drive, depending upon your preferences. If you are interested in fishing, there are plenty of excellent areas within a short drive.A great hiking/walking trail is located across the street. Plenty more hiking/biking opportunities exist in the Okanagan Area. In particular, the Kettle Valley Railway trail is a great experience.

DETAILS OF SUITE

The Suite
The suite is located on the lower walkout basement level (in a duplex fashion) of our own Craftsman Style home (entrance would be via the stairway at the right side of house down to the lower level). The lower level has been built with high ceilings and additional sound barriers between floors.

Occupancy
Preferred occupancy is 3 persons in 1 bedroom & Den. 4 persons may be considered depending on situtation.

Air-conditioning:
The suite has air conditioning or stays comfortable without it.

Private Deck
The covered deck has amazing views of Okanagan Lake and the forested areas inbetween our property and the water (approx. 1000' to the beach). There is one house to the north of us and no houses that can be seen in any other direction. The Cedar Deck has a BBQ, 2 Cedar Adriondack chairs, 2 plastic Adriondack chairs, 2 patio Chairs, 2 small folding beach chairs, 1 Wood side table and a wooden bench.

Livingroom & Diningroom
The livingroom has a matching living room set of a 3 seat sofa, a 2 seat Loveseat and a oversized chair. There is also a Coffee table and a side table. The views from the livingroom are of your private deck & Okanagan Lake The dining area has a table that seats 6.

Entertainment
The entertainment unit has a: 25" TV (with Cable TV) with VCR and a few movies as well as small a stereo radio/cassette player. There are also books, puzzles and games for your enjoyment. There is a free Cable internet hook up and computer desk/chair. Please advise us if you require a computer as we will likely have a Desktop available.

Kitchen
The Full Kitchen has: a full-size Fridge/Freezer, Electric range/oven, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster,  coffee maker, tea pot. There are plenty of matching dishes and glasses. A Eating bar/Island offers food preparation convenience.

Bedrooms:
The master bedroom has one queen bed, bedside table with alarm clock/radio, a dresser and a huge wall length closet.

	The Den is small (7 x 12) but  may be used as a bedroom and has 1 double bed, a bedside table and a dresser in it. (please note that there is no window in the den).

The linen for all beds is supplied and the beds are clean & comfortable. We launder all bed linens, including comforters and mattress pads, following each stay.

Bathrooms
The suite has 1 full Bathroom. The tub in the suite is a oversize soaker tub. Matching towels are supplied.

Laundryroom
A Washer/Dryer are in the unit

Parking
1 parking spot or 2 (boat parking ok) upon request

Pet Policy
Dogs may be pre-approved, please discuss this with us first. No cats are allowed. Please note that the owners, who reside in the unit above, have a 1 1/2 yr old German Shepherd who is in a fenced area but will likely bark at you when you drive in the driveway.

Smoking Policy
The suite is definitely Non-Smoking.

Quiet Time Policy
11pm to 7am.

Check In/Out
You may check in after 4pm and stay until noon on your departure day. 2 keys will be provided.

Housekeeping
Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure.

Rental Rates
Late June - Sept: $630 per week for 1- 2 persons and $5 per person for each additional person.

A security deposit of $200 cash will be required and will be promptly returned upon check-out (providing no damage has occurred)

Rentals generally start on a Sunday.

Cancellation Policies
If you cancel, your rent will be refunded (less a $50 handling fee) if the unit is re-rented.

DIRECTIONS

From Hwy 97- going South (via Vernon/Oyama)

• Once you have entered Winfield (sign on Highway) the first traffic light on the highway that you will approach is at the Lakewood Mall. Turn right at the traffic light onto Oceola.
• Continue on Oceola as it goes over a hill and then down towards the Lake. Oceola will turn into Okanagan Centre Rd West and will begin to parallel the water.When you come to the first stop sign (a 3 way stop) turn left onto Camp Rd
• Continue up Camp (a steep hill) until you come to the first intersection. Turn Rt onto Hare Rd. If you go to far you'll come to the entrance to the Gray Monk winery. Go in, have a sample of wine (only 1 though-you're still driving!) and come back down the hill and turn left onto Hare.
• Continue along Hare Road until almost to the end. 10880 will be on your right hand side and is a Green House with a detached garage. Your parking spot will be infront of the steps to the suite, or the large pull-in spot (if you have pre-arranged and have a boat).
  

From Hwy 97- going North (via Kelowna)

• Drive North on Hwy97 until you enter Lake Country/Winfield (sign on Hwy just after the big "Boat Sign" for Holiday Park Resort) ). You will then pass one traffic light, gas stations, an A&W and then 2 shopping Plaza's. When you reach Berry Rd (2nd traffic light after entering Winfield) you will turn left off the highway onto Berry.
• Proceed up the hill on Berry Road for one block. Turn right at T-intersection onto Okanagan Centre Road East.
• Follow Okanagan Centre Road E. until just after the Firehall and turn left onto Camp Road.
• Follow Camp Road for ~3 km. until you come down the hill to a yield sign at Davidson Road. Turn left at the yield sign and follow Camp Road to Gray Monk Winery (1km.)
• Go past the Gray Monk entrance and turn left onto Hare Road. Continue along Hare Road until almost to the end. 10880 will be on your right hand side and is a Green House with a detached garage. Your parking spot will be infront of the steps to the suite, or the large pull-in spot (if you have pre-arranged and have a boat).
