Vancouver went 4-9 with the man advantage. The Oilers' power play struggled, going 0-8.
Anson Carter, a free-agent signee who is already paying dividends, scored once on the power play and earned an assist on Henrik Sedin's goal. Josh Green and Trevor Linden also scored on the power play. Defenseman Ed Jovanovski scored the other goal as the Canucks ended the preseason with a 3-2-2 record.
Shawn Horcoff scored once for the Oilers and assisted on Ryan Smyth's goal.
Dan Cloutier went the distance in goal for Vancouver, stopping 27 shots. Ty Conklin made 22 saves for Edmonton.
