Linesmen: Lyle Seitz, Mike Cvik.CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- Chris Simon scored twice and Miikka Kiprusoff made 19 saves, leading the Calgary Flames to a 5-0 preseason victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night.
Stephane Yelle, Shean Donovan and Dion Phaneuf also scored for Calgary, which had four goals on five shots in the third period.
The Flames (4-2-1) led 1-0 until Shean Donovan's unassisted goal seven minutes into the third period. Simon followed with his first of the night nearly two minutes later to make it 3-0, and rookie Phaneuf scored on one-timer from the blue line with less then nine minutes left.
Simon wrapped up the scoring about 30 seconds later, redirecting Matthew Lombardi's pass behind Oilers goalie Ty Conklin.
Conklin had just one save in the third period after stopping 21 of 22 over the first 40 minutes.
Calgary finished 1-for-9 on the power-play while Edmonton (3-3-1) was 0-for-4.
