Amateur Music Composition -- simple and unorthodox

This is for people that know little about music, but do appreciate it, AND would like to play around with it.

This section of this web site deals with ways of composing music with numbers.
Some of the programs to make this possible are freely downloadable from this site and other sites.
The compositions presented are the result of my own inexperienced efforts.

My first Composition efforts (for 1. below I used 3 instruments -- grand piano, cello, and reed organ)
The first 4 are completely originals
The fourth is a variation of Edelweiss and fifth and sixth are variations of Yellow Bird.  Contrary to current thinking, 5,6,7 show that known melodies can be produced and altered using Musinum:
4 below is music using 600 digits of 1/1234.  Every number has its own unique song (infinite number of these)
-- this is an example of one number.
Each number can also have almost an unlimited number of variations -- 4. below is one variation of one number.
By listening to the song you notice the number seems to have a structure to it.
For most people clicking on the choices below Converted to Midi will be wisest to hear the music.

 9.  This is the Zither or Dulcimer alone  Yeldulc.mid  Compare with ...
 10.   This is the Zither with accompanying Reed Organ,  Yeldupl.mid Violin, Flute and voice

To use the table above:
Clicking on the song under Parsed in Musinumparse.exe  will play the music in  Musinum if you have downloaded this free player from:

http://www.forwiss.uni-erlangen.de/~kinderma/musinum/version208.html

Clicking on the song under Converted to Midi will call up one of your midi players and play the piece.

Clicking on the song under Musical Score will show the notes for the song.

In time more will be added.  I have tried playing the digits of the numbers like Pi up to 10 000 digits in a single and double digit mode -- interesting music.
