These images were taken with a Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D digital SLR. It is a 6.1 MP DSLR with anti-shake built into the camera body. It takes the four lenses I use with my Maxxum film cameras. My main film camera is the 7D's film predecessor, the Maxxum 7. E-mail me if you would like more information. Some images from a mid September (2005) camping trip in the Crowsnest Pass. Well
.... this may not seem like a special picture, and in many ways, it is
not. But under the circumstances, it is special. We saw this moose along
the side of the highway after the sun had set behind the mountains. The
light was poor. I knew I could not get out of my truck and use the tripod
because the moose would run away--which he eventually did. So I set the
7D to ISO 800 and shot several pictures out of the window--he was about
76 metres away.
Of course, I could not have done that with a film camera as I would not have had ISO 800 film in the camera. To help out, the KM 7D has an internal anti-shake mechanism which stabilizes the image when the shutter speeds are low. This picture and several others were taken at between 1/15 and 1/20 second. You can see the effects of the slow speeds on the blurred trees and movement in the moose's legs. I was panning the moose as the picture was taken. Not publishable,
but still a fun picture.

| Some days you just get lucky. I woke early while camping one day in mid September and this brilliant sunrise soon developed. Other than reduce the size of this picture for screen viewing, there were NO adjustments made to this image. The colors are true to reality. |

Shortly
after the sunrise at camp I headed out and came across the sunlight starting
to glow on Turtle Mountain in the Crowsnest Pass. And a few minutes later
the horses came over for a visit. It was simply a great morning for
pictures.
