market CKNW engineer Doug Court died in hospital March 5. A memorial service is
scheduled for 1 p.m. March 19th at Forest Lawn Cemetary in Burnaby. An official
obituary is expected in the next few days.

station license to Dry Creek Community Broadcasting for KAPY-LP
95.5 Port Angeles. It will operate non-directional with an ERP of 93 watts at

- 03/04/10 - Citytv CKVU-DT Vancouver signed on yesterday.
The CRTC gave its authorization last week to operate on channel 47 with a maximum

- 03/02/10 - Seattle-based Fisher Communications, Inc. will report its fourth quarter 2009
and full year 2009 financial results before the market opens on March 11. A
quarterly conference call to discuss the results is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. that day.

Court of Ontario has given the nod to Shaw
Communications to
take control of Canwest Global
Communications. Shaw revealed that its investment amounts to a minimum of
$95-million in exchange for 20 per cent of the equity and an 80-per-cent voting interest
in the restructured company. A competing bid from private equity firm Catalyst

- 02/18/10 - The Canadian Association of Broadcasters
is planning to shut down this June after reaching an impasse with some of its members.
Chairman Elmer Hildebrand says the CAB, which represents Canadian radio and
television broadcasters, hopes to form a new organization in the future that solely
represents radio broadcasters. It was established by Canadian broadcasting pioneers

- 02/18/10 - The KOMO-TV Seattle analog antenna atop its tower has now
been replaced with a new digital one. Chief Engineer John Barrett says the signal
will increase to a million watts and the tower will be the first to have specialized
vertical polarization needed for handheld devices. Crews will continue to climb the
tower for the next few weeks with all work expected to be completed about March 1st.

- 02/17/10 - KAPY-LP 95.5 Port Angeles will launch shortly with a
Traditional Country format along with community supported programming. FCC
records show it will operate with 100 watts non-directional at -102.1 meters HAAT at 48-06-45
123-31-50. There has been a corporation board change and amendment of name from
Calvary Chapel of Port Angeles to Dry Creek Community Broadcasting. The station will

station operating at 91.5 from VIVO Media Arts
in Vancouver for the last few days has been shut down by Industry Canada. IC
officers dressed in Olympics clothing advised the operators that they faced a significant

- 02/15/10 - Chris King, KJR AM 950 Seattle weekly high school sports reporter for
the past five years, is returning to the Wenatchee AppleSox
to work in sponsor sales, as communications director and the teams radio voice on KPQ AM 560. King has announced over 140 high school
football, basketball, and volleyball games for Comcast Varsity Sports in Western
Washington and Spokane over the last four years and was the AppleSox announcer during the
2008 season.

license swap between KANY-FM 93.7 Ocean Shores

- 02/08/10 - Former KBSG personality Mark Christopher has resurfaced at the new
Seattle market KMCQ-FM 104.5 Covington,
with 104.5 KMCQ- All songs from the 60's and 70's imaging. The station
moved to its new transmitter location on Cougar Mountain last month following the
frequency swap between KAFE-FM 104.1 Bellingham and CHHR-FM 104.3 Vancouver. Applications to move
KMCQ from The Dalles OR first became public back in 2004.

died February 1. He was 93. A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m.

- 02/04/10 - Vancouver market CISL AM 650, teamed
with Russia's Autoradio,
will program music, and interviews with athletes, Olympic Committee members, locals, and
international guests during the duration of the Games. To meet content regulations,
Canadian music will also be broadcast during the Russian airtime. Station owner Astral Media estimates its Russian programming will
