McFARLANE _ Monty May 2nd, 1925 - December 15th, 2003 Vancouver's wittiest morning man in B.C. and for a while also in Hawaii. He was totally irreverent and politically incorrect about everything and everyone. He hated pomposity and ridiculed those whose high opinion of themselves far exceeded those held by others. His premise being that if we could not laugh at ourselves, the world would become a sad, humourless place, in which to live. He loved his wife, his children and golf, but not necessarily in that order. The laughter he brought to us has faded away, but the angels will be having a hell of a good time. Monty is remembered most lovingly by his wife Arline, son Greg in Las Vegas and daughter Shawn in Philadelphia. Brad, Monty's older son, served as the official greeter to welcome his dad at the Pearly Gates. Monty received the British Columbia Association of Broadcaster's Performer of the Year award in 1986. Monty was honoured again when he was inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame in 1996. There will be a Funeral Mass held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 595 Keith Road (off Taylor Way), West Vancouver on Monday, December 22nd, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully appreciated by Variety the Children's Charity. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's on-line Memorial Register at: www.personalalternative.com. Personal Alternative Funeral Services 604-662-7700
