applied to the CRTC to operate a transitional digital television station associated with
its existing CHAN-TV/8 Vancouver. The new station would operate on channel 22 with
an maximum effective radiated power of 8,300 watts at 670 metres.

Northwest Broadcasters LLC (not related to this website) has filed a motion of
severance with the FCC to separate FM allotments near Portland from ones near Seattle,
surrounding the move-in of KMCQ-FM 104.5 The Dalles OR to Covington WA. If
approved, this would give the green light to changes in northern OR, without them being
held up by numerous pleadings challenging the Seattle portion of the proceeding.

disruption to ‘existing service’ occasioned by removal of an operating

identifying as "Vancouver's official holiday music station", Clear-FM CKCL-FM 104.9 Vancouver (107.5 Chilliwack/92.5
Abbotsford) has moved to all-Christmas music "just for the weekend, to get into the
Christmas spirit". The trio of stations moved to all-Christmas on November 19
last year, prior to changing to AC/smooth jazz on December 26 from the previous alt/new
rock format.

90.5 Victoria morning show On the Island, died of an apparent heart attack in
Tofino Saturday morning at the age of 49. He hosted programs at CHQM Vancouver in
the late 1970s, news at CJAZ-FM Vancouver in the early 1980s, was later Program Director
of CKKS-FM Vancouver and more recently weekend morning host of North By Northwest

for KNWX AM 1210 Auburn-Federal Way from Entercom
Seattle License, LLC to Bustos Media of
Washington, LLC. Plans are to convert the station from business and investing
programs to a Spanish-language format.

- 11/12/04 - The CRTC has approved application by the CBC to operate a transitional digital television undertaking to
simulcast the current analog programming of CBUT/2
Vancouver, with the exception of up to 14 hours per week not duplicated. The
transmitter will operate from Mount Seymour on channel 58 with an effective radiated power

- 11/11/04 - Legendary DJ Red Robinson celebrates 50 memorable years in
broadcasting on November 12. Red started spinning the hits at CJOR Vancouver in
1954, becoming the first DJ to play rock 'n roll on a regular basis in Canada. He
moved to CKWX in '57, then to KGW Portland in '59, returning to Vancouver in '61 as PD of
CFUN, later moving to CJOR, CKWX and CISL. He emceed the Elvis and Beatles concerts
in the city. Red continues broadcasting oldies Sundays from 12-4 on CISL AM 650.

Broadcasting to add the same frequency in Sequim. Plan 9 also has proposed
adding a Class A on 93.7 MHz in Port Angeles. The frequencies are short-spaced to
Canadian allocations and will require concurrence from Canadian authorities.

The Dalles OR to Covington WA. KMIH maintains the Commission should reconsider, due

another station towards the Seattle metropolitan area at the expense of area high school
students’ education and an island, which overwhelmingly support KMIH and its mission

- 08/17/04 - Veteran CH CHEK-TV/6 Victoria news anchor Hudson Mack
has been lured away by The New VI CIVI-TV/53.
Mack joined the staff of CHEK-TV in 1985, continuing a broadcast career that began
in the BC interior in 1980. He was named Assistant News Director and primary evening
news anchor in 1989 and has twice been named Most Popular Victoria Television
Personality in polls done by Vancouver's TV Week magazine. He will anchor his

display the message, "Due to International Olympic Committee (IOC) restrictions

is prohibited from streaming any live or on-demand audio/video files that may include

He began his career as a technician at CKMO Vancouver (now CFUN) in 1947 and

- 01/30/04 - Well known Vancouver Top 40 DJ Russ Simpson passed
away yesterday afternoon after a lengthy illness. He started his radio career at
CHOV Pembroke ON in 1958 and worked his way up to CKEY Toronto from 1960-64.
Probably best known in this area for his afternoon drive show at CKLG from 1964-67, he
also hosted CHAN-TV's Windfall. After a few more years back east, he
returned to host mid mornings at CKLG during 1971-72 and later went on to sales at the
station in 1974.
