This is an unusual abstract nude thinking about a hot summer day at the beach. It is a very powerful and dramatic painting with many brilliant colors. The colors of the ocean and the sky in the background are more neutral and the colors of the nude are vivid so it appears as if the nude was coming out of the painting, stretching toward you. The abstraction allows you to 'create' the nude for yourself - the feelings, perceptions and emotions you experience when looking at the painting will be unique to you.
I created the painting using multiple layers of high-quality oil paints. The colors are bright and vibrant and there are many different hues of pure color that a photo cannot capture. If you like the photo you will love the painting! The colors you see also depend on your computer's monitor settings. The painting's colors depend on the color and intensity of the light that illuminates the painting and different illumination (daylight, evening light, spotlight) will emphasize different hues and tones of colors in the painting.
