I was inspired by the mystique and the idealized beauty of the *classical nudes* of the Renaissance. This *nude* has the soft, rounded forms and the feminine pose that characterized the *nudes* of the past but the abstraction and the vibrant colors bring her into *contemporary* world. She almost appears to be "stepping" from the past into the present - the *painting*, when viewed in person, has a sort of 3-dimensional effect. I layered the colors and used both cool and warm tones of greens, blues and violets that give a lot of depth to the painting.

I created the painting using multiple layers of high-quality *oil* paints. The *colors* are bright and *vibrant* and there are many different hues of pure color that a photo cannot capture. If you like the photo you will love the painting! The colors you see also depend on your computer's monitor settings. The painting's colors depend on the color and intensity of the light that illuminates the painting and different illumination (daylight, evening light, spotlight) will emphasize different hues and tones of colors in the painting.
