Contemporary Nude and Figure Paintings

Artist Martina Shapiro

SOLD to IL, USA.  "Abstract Reclining Nude", original painting,
painted in ink and acrylic paint on heavy weight, acid free watercolor paper, size 24 x 18 inches (61x 46cm)
.

Abstract, expressionist reclining nude. She is relaxed, lost in a dream. Delicate and feminine nude contrasting with the bold and rough brushstrokes... It is a very striking painting/drawing. The ink line brush drawing is spontaneous and raw and very expressive. The red, pink and yellow acrylic paint is bright and vibrant and gives the painting texture. The heavy weight paper shows through in many places providing additional texture and interest. This painting is on paper so you will have to have it framed under glass (it is sold without a frame). You can get quite a different 'look' with different frames - see some examples below.
