1978 Trillium 4500
We had been looking for a Trillium 4500 for a
while. We found one listed on the Buy/Sell website - located in Calgary,
Alberta and decided it was worth pursuing.
This transaction was one of the most smooth we have ever gone through, thanks to
having a good friend in Calgary who did some leg work for us. By shear luck it
happens that he lives around the corner from the previous owners and they
frequently exchange each other's mail because their house numbers are the same.
What a small world! After a day of receiving digital photos, making phone
calls and wiring a deposit.....it was ours to pick up on April 15, 2005.
We arrived in Calgary around 3:00 p.m. The first thing that we did after
all the formalities were taken care of was take in the rims and put brand new
tires on for the journey home. After greasing the bearings and putting the tires
on we towed it to our friend's house to check the lights. We purchased an
adaptor before we left and hooked everything up. No signal, brake or running
lights. After a simple clean-up and connecting ground wires better...still no
lights. $2.00 worth of bulbs cleared up the problem. Everything was ready
to go about 5:30 p.m. It sure helps when all the stores you need are close
by.
It was a nice day in Calgary, but a little on the cool side. We slept in the
trailer anyway. It was great! She towed great....no problems at all. As
most of you know, I ALWAYS name our trailers. This trailer is now
affectionately known as "Creampuff".
I was really impressed with the condition of this trailer. All it needs is elbow
grease to clean it up. This is going to be a similar restoration to the Green
Grape. These are a few inside pics.....
The previous owner kept cardboard in the windows to help keep the upholstery from fading. That was really nice of her to do that, but those covers will be history! For curtains, there are a total of 12 towels. I think I can use those for something else. There are really interesting cupboards in this trailer. Notice on the left of the furnace, that is a small pull out cubby for stuff. The doors underneath the back dinette bunks have drawers behind them. The rest of the bunk is open space.

The seams definitely need attention. Quick and easy fix. There is a frosted window behind the three burner stove. See the nice "wooden" counter top......it looks real, doesn't it? It's actually wallpaper (which will, for sure, be gone shortly). Below the counter to the left of the fridge are three smaller drawers and a cupboard with a shelf.

The frame is in great shape - just needs a paint job. It has two jacks secured to the back bumper. It also came with the Trillium tire cover and propane tank cover. I am going to do my best to save these logos and use them on new covers.
