| Noah Layne (1979-) is a classical artist who
works out of his studio in Victoria, BC, Canada. Noah was homeschooled
as a child and encouraged to pursue his artistic goals. Noah has
been painting and drawing for the last 17 years. He has studied various
painting techniques and been influenced by painters such as Bouguereau,
Rembrandt, Sargent, Velazquez, Wyeth, and Zorn.
Noah works in oil and is an excellent draftsman. He believes in the importance of working from life. His works are primarily concerned with portraying a realistic image through the use of light, line and color. Artist Statement:
When I’m painting still lifes I try to paint truthful
(and sometimes humorous) images exploring light, color and texture.
“I have known Noah for several years and have
watched his development with much interest… He is a concentrated worker…
And I wish him all the best for his good work and his exciting future.
“ Myfanwy Pavelic, Order of Canada, Order of BC, Official Portrait
Painter of former Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
“I must say that you have a wonderful touch…. You are able to evoke an atmosphere in your figurative works that I don't often see… The world, in my opinion, is in desperate need of artists who have your spirit.” Graydon Parrish, Leading American Classical Artist. |
