A
Nightmare On Elm Street films were having
a huge cult following and because of it's
population a TV series arose in the same
vein as Tales from the Crypt. Like the
Cryptkeeper Freddy Krueger hosted a
different story happening on Elm Street .each
week. He
shows us a tale of evil and death about
the lives of people who live on Elm
Street and he wasn't necessarily the one
responsible for all of it. However, the
pilot episode called "No More Mr.
Nice Guy" shows the prequel of when
he was a human being and was killing the
children at his boiler room and when the
parents burned him alive and made him a
nightmare killer.
In every episode the first half hour
centers around a situation and then goes
to another subject but it's still taking
place in the story alltogether.
Many cult actors have guested in the show
including Lar Park Lincoln (Friday the
13th Part VII: The New Blood). The show
aired on October 9, 1988 for two seasons.
It became widely popular for kids in
Elementary School and Junior High and ran
every later at night cause of the fact it
may scare much younger viewers. I believe
the show advised viewer discretion before
the show aired in case parents of kids
were worried of what their kids were
watching. The plug was pulled on March of
1990 but copies of some episodes are
still available.
