New Horizon was founded in 2005, basing itself on the idea to provide a connection between the Music Industry and the emerging artists in B.C. The number of talented young people in the Okanagan, B.C. and for that matter all over Canada is astounding, to put it bluntly, “Canada’s Got Talent” and waiting out there somewhere is another Shania Twain, Brian Adams or Jonnie Reed, just hoping for the chance to to be discovered. Minors have the toughest time of any hopeful artist or musician finding venues to showcase themselves, or to get themselves noticed, most clubs, pubs, and other such venues even some restaurants don’t want to baby sit these kids between their sets. The venues open to them are few and far between and most of these young artist just do not know how to get started in the music/arts business.

That’s were New Horizons Talent Steps up to the Plate

We found a big need and began to fill it, we now offer these up and comers a real opportunity to get into the Music Business, no matter what level they are interested in, it doesn’t matter if they want a career in music as a recording artist, musician, teacher, or just to have fun singing and playing an instrument, there is a place for everything and everybody to find their niche.

We started helping artists of all genres to get into The Business of Music; live stage performances, Education, Workshops, competitions, and Musicals & /drama. But most importantly getting them involved in the Music and Arts Industry. Many have already moved forward performing at paid gig & performances, at Merritt Mountainfest, Armstrong IPE, CCMA, BCCMA, Top Teen of Canada, Westside Days, and Festivals Kelowna. Live stage work is out there, most of them just need a hand up to get going in the right direction. We find the biggest obstacles are lack of knowledge organization, support, and Finances.

“If you can sing, play an instrument or just want to learn or hang out. We want you! These workshops will be geared to help people get started and find out how, we will also be offering songwriting workshops, and cover all the areas that are not only going to be educational but a lot of fun. Music B.C. is officially here now, and we will be working with them as well as the B.C. Country Music Association. We have a lot to share, and we are committed to working with all young people.
