Grey Kirtle
This is my first bash at a Herjolfsnes style dress where the gores come all the way up to the armpit and form the armscye shape. I have found also that the gusset on the back of the sleeve is a very comfortable alternative to all the fabric under the arm. The dress is made of a nice heavy linen and is very wash and wear. All the seam finishes are done by hand and the neck is faced with a grey bias trim.
This is the layout and basic shape of the garment. The layout has the right shapes but may not be to scale.
