14th Century Pouch

This is my pouch. The design came from the Museum of London's Dress Accessories book. It is made from leather and it is bound around with a tabby woven trim that should be silk or linen but is made of cotton as I have no resource for silk tabby woven binding at this time. The tassels are made of silk and attached to the pouch while being made. The pouch is sewn with silk thread. The design is scraped into the surface of the leather. The second pouch is the one I made for Kingdom A&S. With hand dyed silk threads I did cardweaving along the top edge and I made a tabby ribbon to bind the side edges. The tassels are of the same silk. It turned out slightly larger and much nicer than the first one.

This is the detail of how the pouch strap is attached and the inside.
