Al-Noor Nenshi Nathoo: Poverty & Moral Obligation

Welcome!
This home page is a work in progress.

Its primary purpose is to share information about my primary interests:
(1) exploring the moral obligations of the affluent, and
(2) facilitating greater and better public deliberation around the moral obligations of the affluent

Motivation
For a number of years, I, along with a growing number of others, have been astounded by the relative dearth of systematic discussion, in public and academic discourse, around the subject of what we ought, and can, do to address the fact that 30,000 children die each day of easily-preventable, poverty-related causes.

Does This Type of Stuff Really Make A Difference?
I'm not sure, but I'm inclined to believe that it does. Reading, for instance, the relevant works of Peter Singer and Peter Unger certainly has had a profoud effect on my thinking about the subject. I post this website on the off chance that they, or works like them, might have a similar impact on others.
